About Duncan Hickman
Duncan Hickman is originally from Columbia, South Carolina, but grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. He returned to Columbia, where he double majored in Finance and Real Estate at the Darla Moore School of Business. He is a former captain and team president of the USC Hockey Team and was an active member and chairman of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
While earning his undergraduate degree, Duncan worked for the litigation insurance defense team at a recognized South Carolina defense firm. Duncan joined Cavanaugh & Thickens as a Liaison in June of 2019 and was responsible for conducting firm outreach, especially on the University of South Carolina campus. He organized speaking events for our criminal defense attorney, Steve Krzyston, and executed marketing and sponsorship opportunities for Cavanaugh & Thickens.
In May of 2020, Duncan transitioned into his current role as a Law Clerk and now focuses on legal research, preparing memos, motions, and other legal documents for the courts, and reviewing case files. He is currently a 3L at the University of South Carolina School of Law and expects to graduate in 2022.
Duncan lives in downtown Columbia and enjoys traveling and playing hockey and soccer in his spare time.
